In prior posts, we introduced the Delta Model itself, including why the time is now for a new model for lawyer competency, and what the People, Process, and Practice sides of the model represent.
So, what, exactly is Design Your Delta (or DYD, as we like to call it)?
DYD makes the Delta Model actionable. It turns a model into a framework and tool to enable thriving in the legal profession — thriving for individuals, organizations, and institutions.
Through playbooks, leaders can create customized Delta Models to best reflect the unique needs and culture of their organizations, assess and shape strategic initiatives, and provide transparency to its members.
Through playlists, practitioners and students can seek skill development based on an individualized list of resources designed to address the gaps in skills that best support their unique career goals.
Through reflection and intentional decision making, the DYD approach supports organizations and individuals in effectively navigating moments of liminality, change, and uncertainty, ultimately empowering them to thrive in the legal profession.
Watch the video below for more on DYD, and how the tools and methods combine to empower thriving.
Currently, we’re gathering feedback on the DYD approach from organizations, law students, recent graduates, lawyers, and other legal professionals through various use cases. Over the coming weeks, we will share videos of their feedback with you.
If you or your organization are interested in exploring the Design Your Delta tools and methods, please reach out to us. We seek to put our prototypes in the hands of as many people as possible, to test and iterate and help us understand how we can use DYD to increase thriving across the legal profession.
